Creative writing is a different genre for the Young Journalist, now with its own published curriculum.

Summer camps were held at the Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation, as well as Rosewood and Liberty Magnet elementary schools.

Julie Paez, TYJ mentor, wrote: “Our goal for our Creative Writing classes at summer camp was for students to realize that writing is fun and that they are good at it. We used individual, partner and group writing activities. Each week they finalized a piece of writing and brought it home.”
